Red October, WAiSTEDD
I have to say, for the longest time I wanted a pair of Red Octobers. I was willing to spend whatever for them. Alas, my bank account has not gotten any bigger nor have my other responsibilities gotten any smaller so I still do not have the Red Octobers. Luckily for me, however, I found these amazing Supras for the time being (I’m totally obsessed with a red shoe- such a pop. Even cooler that this is a sneaker!)
This look is one of my favorite casual looks to wear- ripped denim, sneakers, a flannel and gold jewelry. I’m not sure why- but I am always drawn to this type of an edgier look which is very much inspired by the street style of last year. I am such a sneaker Fein (which many of you probably don’t know because I wear heels so often in our posts) and its great to play around with different casual looks and feel edgy. Lauren and I are so experimental in our fashion sense and love to play around with different looks- this was definitely one of those times. This isn’t a look I would wear all the time, but it’s fun to try on different looks that represent different facets of your personality (currently blasting Drake… hmmm…). We always. always. try and have fun with fashion- never take it too seriously! I mean really though, who wants to look the same all the time…..
Enjoy your week everyone!!

Hope you all are enjoying your Labor Day Weekend!!!
We have both been super casual and laid back for the holiday. Sometimes taking it easy & relaxing is the best way to spend a day off! We both have really been into some of our favorite 90’s trends lately- hence, the overalls. I tried mixing up a typical overalls look with edge by incorporating hoops, heels and a crop top hoodie. Lauren and I have always enjoyed mixing different styles within a look. We think it really gives it individuality and makes the outfit represent the particular person wearing it. After all, isn’t that what fashion is about – individual expression?
Anyways, I’m loving this overalls from Free People because I really can mix it up- whether with a crop top hoodie and heels or with a flowy blouse and booties, I feel like I can dress up the overalls in any way I want. Really a great staple piece for my closet! Overalls can be tricky (whether it be short or long) so experimenting is key! Make your overalls your own and create your own unique look!
Have a great holiday!! XO Danielle & Lauren

Welcome to the Hotel California….
Yes, we may be old souls referencing the Eagles, but music influences fashion in so many different ways. Think about Madonna, Rihanna, Destiny’s Child, and most recently Katy Perry at the Moschino show (LOL). What they wear to concerts and on the red carpet definitely give us a direction for what is “in style” and lets be honest, we all want to look like them (in particular Beyonce). Well, since we might not be taking fashion advice from 5 men in their 70s (NO DISRESPECT) their music and story inspires our style. Here is one outfit inspired by them after experiencing their AMAZING concert!!
Utility jacket, aviator sunglasses, stacked necklaces, and distressed denim.
One of our favorite concert tees- neon with a CA flare
Fringe is a great detail for any style you are going for. You can wear these folded over with rolled up denim, or uncuff them with tucked in jeans.

Get it Right, Get it Stripe.Every women fears horizontal stripes quite possibly more than most things- quite possibly more than missing Girls on a Sunday night, or when someone has your last sip of wine (no like seriously who does that..). We are taught from a young age… do not, whatever you do, wear horizontal stripes. We’ll, we’re here to say no way jose!!! We love stripes done right… Get it right, get it Stripes.
Stripes have to be in the right piece- often times the issue with horizontal stripes is there is simply too much. It becomes overwhelming- like is this a dress or are you wearing binder paper (WTF, much?). Lauren and Danielle enjoy stripes in simpler pieces, such as the t-shirt Danielle is wearing in this post.
Pairing becomes incredibly important with stripes. It is important to pick pieces that will compliment the colors in a unique way- i.e navy and the pastels. It really makes the stripes pop- in a good way. (One time Danielle wore this top with Red, same color scheme but not good. Uncle Sam anyone?) Danielle wanted something still chic but casual, so the wedges were perfect to pair with for a long day at work and to transition for drinks with friends- how cute are the tassels on the zipper??
Pastels are great in jackets because they pair so well with neutrals or classic white button down shirts. Not only are they on-trend for 2014, but pastel jackets are truly an investment piece worth making because they are timeless because of their versatility. Dress up or dress down, up to you!
We love wearing simple t-shirts and statement necklaces- its a great and unique contrast that we are currently obsessing over.
Get it right, Get it stripes!

We have had some pretty unbelievable weather in California this past week- I mean 75 degrees in January… is the universe confused on its seasons or did we miss Winter? Our condolences to those of you struggling in snow boots and North Face- good for you really because us California girls are just not cut out for that. Anyways, for the time being, we are so grateful for the beautiful weather. And of course beautiful weather always means beautiful bold colors.
When wearing brighter colors women always worry about two things: 1. I wont look good in that color or 2. It’s simply not appropriate for the season.
UMMMM seriously you’re WRONG. Here’s why: On the topic of picking brighter colors that compliment your skin tone- yes, we will acknowledge not every color looks incredible on everyone but we assure you, you will find a bright color that you CAN wear. The hardest part about a bold piece is that you are going to make a statement- do not shy away from this! You have an opportunity to stand out and truly express yourself through your clothing. Once you find a color you enjoy, the best accessory you can pair it with in confidence (cliche yes, but ohhh so true).
The same can be said for wearing bolder pieces for colder seasons- every women in the fall or winter always looks for black, grey, navy and oh gosh if they are daring they just may wear burgundy. Pair a brighter piece with a neutral as Danielle did here- it doesn’t look overwhelming and still looks carefree and chic. Obviously if it is snowing where you are shorts are probably not fun. We would recommend a bright pair of pants with layering or simply a brighter coat.
Here, Danielle pairs two bright pieces: sunglasses and skort with neutral accents: jean jacket (vintage by the way- so cool right?) and shoes. The sweater really brings the outfit together and makes it cohesive.
In our hearts we believe any great outfit is not complete without a pair of killer shoes. We are seriously obsessing over these snakeskin heels from Kelsi Dagger. We’re totally in love with this brand!!!
Bold, Bright colors are meant to be fun and bring liveliness to your outfit. Remember to be confident and own it! Share with us your favorite bright pieces!
Be Bold, Be Beautiful, BE YOU!

Sure, when you think of a sweatshirt the first thing that comes to mind is that old, beat up, hoodie you wear to bed. But isn’t there a reason we keep them in our closets? They are comfy, easy, and warm, which is exactly what we want during winter. So why not wear them? Whether it be that hoodie you wear to bed, or a crew neck, sweatshirts are the perfect piece for a laid back weekend outfit.
Lauren paired a simple grey crew neck sweatshirt with a fleece flannel to add some color and warmth. The oversized flannel works great with a more fitted crew neck sweatshirt to show off some curves. Also we love the black jeans to draw the eye towards the upper half of the outfit.
Layering is a great way to dress up a hoodie and give it some life. You really can’t go wrong! Another way we love to wear hoodies is with a jean jacket and boots or even your favorite pair of sneakers. Lauren added some wedge sneakers to give the outfit some edge.
If you couldn’t tell, we love adding chunky jewelry. Add a chain or your favorite necklace, whatever makes you feel bada$$
So grab your sweatshirt and do you.
