As of late I’ve been so into Free People- I love their brand and how it has such a carefree spirit. I found this maxi on gilt and I’m so glad I decided to purchase it. It has been perfect for spring and will transition great into Summer. My favorite part of this dress is absolutely and obviously the back- I love the openess and simplicity. The layers at the bottom of the dress create such an incredible shape for my shorter frame. My only complaint is that if you are a little bit busty, this type of top can be trouble some- I didn’t find it to be an issue but if you do, it is easy enough to layer with a fun lacy bralette (check out Victoria’s Secret).
Do you ever shop on flash sale websites such as Gilt.com or Hautelook.com? Lauren and I both really like them- I’ve found such amazing products for nearly half the price and it’s fantastic.
I think this is the best new combo. Easy, fun, and casual, stripes, sneakers, and chambray can’t be done wrong. Here I paired a striped mini t-shirt dress with a chambray top and my favorite Nike Internationalist sneakers. Tying the chambray top around my waist gives me some curves and breaks up the stripes. This look is great for summer, especially if you want to be comfortable in sneakers!!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, it’s crazy that March is almost over! I wore this great fit and flare dress over the weekend. I bought it from Anthropologie a few years ago and wore it to my college graduation! I actually forgot how cute this dress is on- such a great print and shape. I’ll have to start wearing it more often, especially now that it’s warmer!
Do you ever forget about certain items in your closet? How do you re-wear older pieces in your closet like they are new?
Happy Monday Everyone! Over the weekend, I purchased a new pair of Ray Bans- how perfect are they for Spring & Summer?!? We are loving that the weather is getting warmer!
I love this cotton black dress- I’ve had it for years. It is such a great piece that I can either dress up or dress down. I added this great bandana I purchased from Madewell. It’s such a great thing to add to an outfit for edge or on my purse as an accessory. I really like the camo and bandana together- brings some edge to a typical LBD!
We are always looking for great layering pieces to have in our closet- they make for easy work to night pieces. I purchased this tan sweater from Aritzia about four years ago and it has been one of the best investments! I love the color and the shape. It is perfect in the winter for a great shell and awesome in the summer on a cooler night.
These sweaters are still available at Aritzia– they have a great selection of colors. I’m thinking about buying another, just debating on the color!
One of my favorite Christmas gifts I received this year was this pair of Steve Madden over the knee black suede boots. I fell in love with these when I walked by them at Nordstrom Christmas shopping for my Mom. The texture is fabulous (Suede is one of my favorite textures) and I love that you can fold them down into a shorter boot for a more casual look.
I had always been worried about wearing over the knee boots because of my height. But paired with a shorter skirt or dress it actually lengthens the legs- shorties rejoice!
You can find these over the knee boots here at Nordstrom. Despite the fact these boots are named after Tyga, I still really like them.
Lauren and I are absolutely obsessed with leopard- which is no secret. We think versatile leopard pieces are absolutely essential in every closet because they serve as a printed neutral. Printed neutrals are few and far between but truly can spice up any outfit.
I love this sweater I purchased from Wilfred Free from Aritzia a while back. It’s such a great print and perfect for layering in the fall. I love pairing it with a white button down (which I wore here), or a light hoodie. I also love the ripped black denim I’m wearing here which I purchased from Hudson- they have the most amazing stud detail on the side. I also love pairing this sweater with a leather mini or shorts in the spring.
