Hi Everyone, Happy Tuesday!
One of my favorite Christmas gifts I received this year was this pair of Steve Madden over the knee black suede boots. I fell in love with these when I walked by them at Nordstrom Christmas shopping for my Mom. The texture is fabulous (Suede is one of my favorite textures) and I love that you can fold them down into a shorter boot for a more casual look.
I had always been worried about wearing over the knee boots because of my height. But paired with a shorter skirt or dress it actually lengthens the legs- shorties rejoice!
You can find these over the knee boots here at Nordstrom. Despite the fact these boots are named after Tyga, I still really like them.

Yesterday, my Family did a Sunday dinner in Santana Row at Foga de Chao which is a Brazilian Steakhouse. I’ve heard so many great things about it and let me tell you it absolutely lived up to its expectation! The waiters bring around huge slabs of all kinds of meat (sounds weird and creepy- it’s totally delicious) and have an amazing salad bar and sides- absolutely a must try! It was so nice to have a Sunday night dinner with my Family- I have been trying to do something fun on Sunday night because I think it helps when gearing up to face another week! Definitely a de-stressor.
For the dinner, I wore a leather mini paired with a flannel and wedge sneakers. Both Lauren and I have been obsessed with leather for quite some time and thankfully for us, it has become such a hot item in the fashion world. Leather is in jackets, pants, skirts, vests, tops- you name it! Now that it’s starting to cool off, it’s the perfect time to either invest in leather pieces or break out the classics you already have in your closet.
I’m absolutely and totally obsessed with this leather mini from Trouve I bought last week at Nordstrom (I think I say that about a lot of clothes, but really this skirt is so bomb)- it has a perfect fit and the drawstring makes it look sporty chic. I love the mini because 1. It’s not too short/ inappropriate so I can wear it to dinner and still feel classy 2. I can dress it down with a casual tank and sneakers for a day off work or when I’m running errands. Leather just brings a total edge to any outfit and is such a fun texture to pair with!
My adorable fam (minus my Dad who was the photographer of the night!)

Say whatever you want about Kim Kardashian (We probably say them too!), but the woman has a killer fashion game and we both love how she dresses perfectly for her curves! One of our favorite looks that Kim does over and over (and still manages to look fresh and flawless) is a tight skirt & bodysuit. Here, I tried recreating that look with this killer asymmetrical plaid skirt I bought from Elorie via Gilt.com. I love the black and white plaid & the ruffle asymmetrical detail. It takes the plaid from plain to edgy.
Another thing I really liked about this skirt was that it’s a piece I can wear to work and still look cute if I want to catch a drink after with the girls. I decided to wear my hair back and with simple jewelry so that the skirt was the main focus of my outfit. I paired the look with my snakeskin heels from Kelsi Dagger- I really love the contrast of texture & patterns.
Have any fun weekend plans?!? Enjoy. XO Danielle & Lauren

Happy Weekend Everyone! How was your Fourth?!?! We hope it was absolutely amazing. I spent the day in Healdsburg with my family and close friends- so fun. Anyways, confession time. In high school, I was absolutely obsessed with T-Pain (I mean I actually still am.. shhh). You all remember the song “Buy u a drank”… well my friends (including miss Lauren) and I could not stop singing it- in the halls at school, when my mom would drive us, at the mall- you name it. If you need a refresher for the song the beginning lyrics are such “Babygirl, whatcha your name”. So naturally when I saw this sweatshirt from Dimepiece LA at Urban Outfitters, It was a necessary purchase.
I love the crop sweatshirt because it goes well with shorts and skirts without looking skimpy. We also love the sweatshirt crop because its perfect for a night out when its a little cooler. Dimepiece is such a great brand, their pieces are so great. In fact, they just added all new pieces to their site, be sure to check them out.
Enjoy your weekend! Go listen to some T-Pain for some fun reminiscing.

Yes, this is another post about our love for striped pieces and our obsession with Schutz heels. But really, can you blame us??
As so many of you know we’ve wrote about stripes a lot so far on our blog. A LOT. We don’t need an explanation- stripes are awesome. They are such a great pattern to add to your wardrobe and they are absolutely the stars of our closet. If you look back at our previous posts that involve stripes, you’ll notice that they are extremely versatile- you can wear stripes in a variety of pieces and to a variety of different events (aka why we love them so much- who doesn’t love practicality?!?) We love this striped skirt Danielle is wearing here because its casual enough to wear to a summer party or you can dress it up to wear to work.
One look we are totally loving this summer is a striped t-shirt with high top converse and a fedora. How perfect is this for fourth of july or day at the beach? If you’re looking for something fancy (nails done, hair done, everything did…) we love a striped blouse with leather jeans. This would be great for a night out with the girls. Pair it with a pair of heels and it works equally well for a date night.
So go out their and make stripes the star of your wardrobe! Wishing you all a great week!

What a week it has been! Isn’t it funny how certain weeks can just fly while others seem never ending? The fun ones unfortunately are the ones that always go too quickly. Both of us had such a great week – literally we blinked and it’s already Sunday. Lauren celebrated her 23rd birthday last weekend along the coast and Danielle is returning from Stagecoach (country version of Coachella). We both had such an incredible week, it’s hard to believe its coming to an end!
Anyways- the topic we are discussing for this week is asymmetry- it’s a trend we are absolutely loving right now. Asymmetrical pieces are great to play with in an outfit and really can highlight your shape in different ways. Here, Danielle is wearing an asymmetrical skirt which hugs her curves in all the right places; paired with a body-con strapless top and a moto-jacket (LOVE THIS JACKET BTW) Danielle showcases the curves. The slit hits above the knee, which is perfect for Danielle’s shorter frame… And we’re always for some Angelina Jolie slit action (um, we wish… Angie girl teach us your ways).
If you’re going out pair the skirt with some simple black heels, or if you’re like Danielle and love to be comfy wearing wedges or sneakers. If you’re in the thick of summer and want something simpler, pair an asymmetrical skirt with a body-con top, unique belt and and pair of simple sandals.
Asymmetrical pieces are EVERYWHERE right now- dresses, skirts, flowy shirts- how perfect are each of these pieces for summer?!?! Especially when you want something easy and breezy when you’re sweating up a storm. If you have a petite body type, make sure the flowy shirt or skirt isn’t all encompassing of your body, you’ll feel lost in it (no, seriously we call it the balloon effect). Try something more form fitting- you’ll actually be wearing clothes rather than swimming in them.
Side note: SERIOUSLY how cute is this necklace Lauren got me for my birthday?!? It’s from a vendor on Etsy called Layered and Long- Lauren had it engraved with W159- which stands for WAiSTEDD & our favorite numbers. She’s the best!!!!
Happy Sunday everyone!! We hope you find some asymmetrical pieces to rock this spring and summer!
