Happy Monday Everyone! Over the weekend, I purchased a new pair of Ray Bans- how perfect are they for Spring & Summer?!? We are loving that the weather is getting warmer!

I love this cotton black dress- I’ve had it for years. It is such a great piece that I can either dress up or dress down. I added this great bandana I purchased from Madewell. It’s such a great thing to add to an outfit for edge or on my purse as an accessory. I really like the camo and bandana together- brings some edge to a typical LBD!

Let’s Talk About Fall

So it’s almost the end of September, and even though the weather has been fantastic, we are starting to notice the days getting shorter and the nights getting a little cooler. I have been debating recently whether a dress will keep me warm or if I need jeans for dinner outings, making it even more difficult to get dressed! This weekend when I went to Oktoberfest by the Bay, I was happy to have on jeans and booties by the end of the day, but wished I had worn a dress when I first got there.

So the question remains how do you transition into fall seamlessly?

One of the ways I have discovered is by starting to introduce what we think of as “fall” essentials, but keeping it fun with summer pieces. Example below- lightweight printed woven top, light wash jeans, and booties. I rolled the denim, much like what I did this summer when wearing sandals and threw on a fun hat (which we are totally loving for fall!). I really love the play on materials with this outfit. The hat is wool, booties are suede, and the top is silk. If you are not ready to commit to fall (and you totally DO NOT have to be) try mixing in your summer pieces with your basic fall favorites!

Hats & Healdsburg

Hi All! Did you guys have a good first day of Summer yesterday?? I hope you all celebrated with a great margarita or by the beach/ pool, I know I did. I just got back from an amazing trip to LA last week. Every Summer my Aunts, my Mom and my Cousin all go on an annual girls trip. We’ve been to so amazing places (Miami, New York, Chicago, LA) I feel so fortunate! I’m so lucky that we get to spend time together traveling every Summer- I have such great memories! One of my favorite things we did in LA (besides eat and shop) was seeing a taping of The Voice- are you guys fans of the show?!? I’m so in love with Adam and Blake. It was an incredible experience… I highly recommend going if you’re in the area. We got our tickets through 1iota– they were the best-the staff was so fun and nice! They also have tickets in NY as well for some late night shows- check them out!

Right now, I am currently in Healdsburg- my parents have some property up here. We’ve lucked out because the weather has just been perfect. It’s the place I love to go to when I need to relax, which I needed considering I start Summer school tomorrow- ew. Anyways, I’m totally loving this Madewell hat I bought last month. It was on sale and its just so perfect for shading my face during the Summer!

 

Lauren and I really love these vests as well. Regardless of the season, layering is so crucial and this vest is perfect for layering in Summer and will be perfect for the Fall. We’re also loving long gold jewelry right now- I mean what outfit doesn’t look good with some gold. These booties are the absolute best color and texture-I typically love to pair them with really feminine pieces but they look equally good with causal wear as well. Check out Sam Edelman for more fun booties, I think one of the best places to look would be at Nordstrom.

Luna loves it up here just as much as I do… so much to explore! Have an amazing week everyone! P.S. does anyone have a good watermelon margarita recipe?!? I recently had one and am totally obsessed 🙂

Tousled and Tasseled

Tassels were once known strictly as an funky vintage accessory on an accent pillow or a horrible addition to an 80’s sweater you hope never to see again. Fortunately for us, the fashion gods have smiled upon us and found a way to incorporate this once cumbersome accessory into a fun addition to your everyday wardrobe.

Tassels have been seen in all types of accessories on both the runway and on the street. Let’s start with some fancy footwear- tassels on shoes are great because they can be both casual and chic. The black and white tassel sandals pictured below (far right and left) are both absolutely perfect for a casual day with friends or even for beach wear. In contrast, the tan sling-back heels in the middle are great to upgrade an outfit for something more sophisticated. These are perfect for work or for that interview you want to nail! If you like to wear flats at work, loafers are a great shoe that incorporates tassels as well.

If you’re more of a jewelry girl, the accessories pictures below are perfect to upgrade your outfit. The necklaces are bold and are great for a night out or with a simple v-neck and boyfriend jeans. The earrings make less of a statement but are still a great upgrade to your outfit. Wear them with a braid crown or your hair pulled back in order to showcase the tassel! Tassels make a perfect summer accessory.

Tassels are a great detail, but do make a statement. If you like the tassels, but are a little concerned they are too bold for you, try a bag with a tassel accessory- it’s a classic touch that will end up being a great investment bag.

Obviously we don’t recommend wearing all these fabulous accessories in one look- so pick which pieces you would like to get totally tasseled and wear one at a time. This is such a fun trend we are TOTALLY WAiSTEDD on- especially because the tassel will transcend from season to season. So go on ladies, get tousled for tassels!!!
